After our brief stay in Trinidad (we couldn't stay long for we not be wanting to draw much attention our way), we've headed off to the Caribbean port they call Barbados. According to me Capt'n the English be sending fleets with supplies to this new colony. And supplies from the English equal food, fabrics, spices, and more. And since we are running low on all such things we shall do what we pirates do best take from the rich and give to. . . well, ourselves! And so we shall sit and await the ships headed our way.

The winter winds be at my back and Jack Frost be at my door. Due to the frigid weather in the north we've been forced ashore to seek temporary refuge among the southern ports. Today we find ourselves in Trinidad, a personal favorite of mine. There's no telling who or what you may encounter here. Although it be most widely known among our kind as the perfect place to smuggle tobacco and sugar and such (due to the spineless governor) we have been asking around to check on any interest in the treasures we carry on board. We mustn't be to candid less they realize what is in our possession, but we must figure out what be our next step in this journey.

After tasting the mouthwatering teas I have decided that this be a worthy journey indeed. And although I feel a wee bit guilty for ever doubting me Captain to begin with... I'm mighty glad I tasted those teas. From the kick of Cannonball Black Iced Tea to the liquid gold of Landlubber Lemonade... The tastes will drive you to the drink!
Tell me what be your favorite flavor of me Captain's teas?

I have decided that before I find out where we be headin' I must taste the rare teas we protect with our lives... after all... what be the point of the journey if the reward not be worthy? I realize that I now sound like the scurvy dogs that swab the decks and hoist the sails on the ship... but rest assured, it not be greed that drives me thirst, but the desire to protect me Captain. For if those teas be not of the very best they've tasted... the crew will surely seek revenge against my Captain... and it is he who I stand guard over.

Avast ye mateys! When I last wrote all was well on board the ship. There were strong winds, smooth sailing, and for the moment... a seemingly happy crew. And while those things appear to still be true... I can't help feeling a bit unhappy myself. As I mentioned in my last entry my lack of knowledge and trust from my Captain were bothering me, and I wonder what I am missing out on. I decided that I must know where we be heading on this long journey to ensure the safety of our treasure, after all am I not willing to risk my neck or my tail to deliver our teas? ... I should be privy to this information. Wish me luck as I plan and plunder behind me own Captain's back... It's for his own good after all... It is never wise to be the only one with the knowledge... it makes you the prime target... and I'm afraid my Captain will become exactly that...

Argh! THe winds have been strong these past weeks aboard our fair vessel. We have kept up steady pace, and the Capt'n assures us we are not far off from our desired destination... though we haven't the slightest clue where that may be. You see mateys, the Capt'n works on a need to know basis, and he don't be believing this crew needs to know where we are headed. I understand his hesitation to trust this scurvy crew, but I do sometimes wish he would tell his most faithful follower (me of course). I am already his ears on this ship, but I wish I could be more helpful...

Avast ye! I recently heard a rumor and felt obliged to be telling all of me faithful readers. Whilst in port a fortnight past, laying at the feet of me captain Black Jack, I lifted me ear to hear a tale about the locals of whichever miserable city we were near'st. The rumor be this: The townsfolk be playing dress up on All Hallow's Eve! Now I have heard of lighting lanterns, wearing bulbs of garlic, and even bearing a cross to keep the demons that roam that night away, but never had I heard of such a thing... costumes for protection? Argh... it seems to be true. They don these get-ups to confuse the dead and the undead alike, and to keep the demons at bay.
Tell me loyal friends... what costume will you wear to blend with the lowly creatures that walk the earth on All Hallow's Eve?

Argh! Did ye know that we pirates don't just talk in salty jargon for no reason? If any of you land lubbers took the time to get to know us, you'd see that the things we say actually make sense... to us anyways... For example:
"Shiver Me Timbers" is often used as an expression of shock or surprise, but it stems from the idea that when a ship runs aground the timbers actually shiver.
Send me any fun pirate facts you have.... it can get mighty borin' upon this vessel!

Me Captain thought that with the warmer weather fast approaching, perhaps it might be a good distraction to take a trip up the Eastern Coast of America. His hope is that a break from the open seas might help the crew relax and be able to focus on their work more easily. It has been a long while since these four legs have felt solid ground, and though we don't make a habit of being in the public eye of the big city dwellers, a trip inland is needed from time to time. It allows the men to enjoy some of the privelages of our plundering. They drink the finest whiskeys and some are even quite popular with the ladies. Now my idea of a get away be not that of sitting on a bar stool or wooing a lady friend (though be sure the ladies love me). My favorite place to visit along the coast be all the way up in Maine. The fresh air and small town living be right up my ally.
Tell me mateys, what be your favorite place to explore during the warm summer months?
